Africa Retreat Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome to Kenya

Arrive in Nairobi in the evening and transfer to the beautiful Argyle Hotel. Rest and settle in as you prepare for the adventure ahead. This is your time to shake off the journey and begin to ground yourself in African soil.

August 8th – 2025

Day 2 - Nairobi Wildlife & Conservation

Begin your safari experience right in the capital with game drives through Nairobi National Park, where giraffes roam against a backdrop of city skyline. Visit the heartwarming Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to meet baby elephants, then feed endangered Rothschild giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. Enjoy lunch at the historic Karen Blixen Coffee Garden before an evening yoga session at the serene Hermosa Gardens.

August 9th – 2025

Day 3 - Journey to Maasai Mara

Travel southwest to the legendary Maasai Mara, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife reserves. Arrive at the Africa Retreat Center Mara Engai Lodge for lunch, then head out for your first afternoon game drive in this extraordinary landscape where the Great Migration unfolds.

August 10th – 2025

Day 4 - Full Day in the Mara

Immerse yourself in the rhythms of the wild with morning and afternoon game drives through the Maasai Mara, home to the Big Five and the dramatic river crossings of the migration. Between drives, practice yoga and meditation, integrating the power and presence of the natural world into your body and breath.

August 11th – 2025

Day 5 - Cross into Tanzania

Journey across the border into Tanzania, changing vehicles at Isebania before continuing to the remote North Serengeti. Arrive at Enkutoto Migration Camp, perfectly positioned in the path of the herds. This is wild Africa at its most pristine and awe-inspiring.

August 12th – 2025

Day 6 - North Serengeti Exploration

Spend a full day exploring the northern reaches of the Serengeti, following the migration and witnessing predator-prey dynamics in real time. The endless golden plains and dramatic skies create a backdrop unlike anywhere else on earth. Return to Enkutoto Migration Camp for the evening.

August 13th – 2025

Day 7 - Central Serengeti Discovery

Travel south to the heart of the Serengeti, stopping for game drives along the way. The Central Serengeti is known for year-round wildlife concentrations and big cat sightings. Arrive at Enkirari Wilderness Camp, nestled in the wilderness and offering an intimate connection to the landscape.

August 14th – 2025

Day 8 - Ngorongoro Crater Adventure

Depart with a packed lunch for one of the most spectacular wildlife experiences on the planet: a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. This ancient volcanic caldera is home to an incredible density of wildlife, including black rhino, lion, elephant, and flamingo-filled lakes. Ascend in the afternoon and transfer to Country Lodge in Karatu.

August 15th – 2025

Day 9 - Cultural Immersion at Africa Amini

Leave the wildlife behind and journey to Africa Amini Maasai Lodge, a community-centered retreat dedicated to supporting local Maasai families. Arrive for lunch and spend the afternoon engaging in cultural activities—learning traditional beadwork, visiting local homes, and connecting with the Maasai way of life.

August 16th – 2025

Day 10 - Rest, Reflection & Community

Enjoy a full leisure day at Africa Amini Lodge. Practice yoga, participate in cultural exchanges, explore the surrounding village, or simply rest and integrate all you’ve experienced. This is a day to slow down, reflect, and honor the journey you’ve been on—both inner and outer.

August 17th – 2025

Day 11 - Departure

Enjoy a full leisure day at Africa Amini Lodge. Practice yoga, participate in cultural exchanges, explore the surrounding village, or simply rest and integrate all you’ve experienced. This is a day to slow down, reflect, and honor the journey you’ve been on—both inner and outer.
